David was the youngest of 4 boys, in a very loving family. David had a great sense of humor, and many wonderful friends. He was also loved by our pet cat, Lucky.

As a child, David was always very active. He was highly intelligent. He enjoyed music, studying piano as a child, and learning to play the guitar when he was in high school. He bought an IPod and always enjoyed listening to music.

David worked hard at physical fitness. He was on the wrestling team at Ida Crown Jewish Academy for 4 years. One of his proudest achievements was winning a match unexpectedly at the Wittenberg Wrestling Tournament at Yeshiva University, which contributed to his team winning the tournament in 2009.

David excelled in math, and placed into the telescopic math class (the class above honors) in high school. He was accepted at University of Illinois at Chicago, and he was also accepted at IDC (Interdisciplinary Center) in Herzliya.

A strong Zionist, David decided to join the Israel Defense Forces before attending college. He joined as a chayil boded, and lived with Bruce and Debbie Leinwald and their family at Neve Ilan. David was proud of his army service and said that every Jew should live in Israel.
